Toronto Civic Run 2012

City Hall was deserted today as #Toronto public sector workers took off time to do the 10k Civic Run in support of charity - I tried to find them but apparently they all made a detour to the football field to volunteer with Mayor Rob Ford's Don Bosco team! Just kidding! But boy is he getting into hot water over hiring assistants that help the Mayor with football related work. A complaint has gone to the Integrity Commissioner regarding City resources possibly being used in contravention of the City's code of conduct.
It has been widely reported that Rob Ford and his brother Doug would like to bring an NFL team to Toronto. If a team does come to town someone could be hoping that half the pro players have time to go back to school - the Don Bosco school of continuing education and footballery and the other half have time to volunteer as special team coaches.

Actually the staff of Toronto ran, walked or biked the 10km from East York Civic Centre to Nathan Phillips Square on Thursday September 15, 2012 to raise funds for the United Way. The charity run was presented by Corporate Security. There was also an ultimate challenge that featured an 84km circuit between the two municipal facilities.
