Christmas Tuba Festival

Holiday songs rang out at #Toronto Nathan Phillips Square during the 21st annual Tuba Festival and choir sing-along on Wednesday, December 5, 2012. The musicians wielded their large brass instruments which usually play a minor bass part in an orchestra and focused the music on the the beauty of their sound to carry the harmony. School groups provided the choir that together with the tubas performed many of the Christmas classics during the lunch break.
The event is Canada wide and occurs during the first week of December every year. Musicians bring baritones, euphonium and the tubas to outdoor concerts, while school bands and choirs join to provide cheer to the season. The festival shows the "power of music education and how music unites us all". See more of the concert after the jump.
