Designing 007: 50 years of Bond

#Toronto spy-craft just got the star treatment as the man with a licence to kill has a lot of secrets on display at tiff. The design of the elements in the movies help set the man apart from run of the mill spies - you know, the type without the licence.

If you want pictures inside the exhibition you will need to bring a spy camera because photography is not allowed. In the hallway you can check out some swimsuits used in the films including Halle Berry's orange number (complete with knife), Ursula Andress' white bikini and the trunks of both Sean Connery and Daniel Craig.

"Making its North American premiere at TIFF Bell Lightbox following its unveiling at London’s Barbican Centre this past summer, Designing 007: Fifty Years of Bond Style is the largest and most comprehensive exhibition ever devoted to Bond, featuring costumes, props, models, gadgets, concept artwork, storyboards and other fascinating artifacts from the series. Signature Bond items featured in the exhibition include the steel teeth worn by Richard “Jaws” Kiel in The Spy Who Loved Me(1977); the Anthony Sinclair overcoat worn by Sean Connery in Dr. No(1962); the poker table from Casino Royale (2006); and multiple gadgets from Q Branch."

RoboCop on motorcycle

OmniCorp's RoboCop rides a mighty hog on the movie set in the University of #Toronto today. Maybe we will see him at the 2012 Fall Motorcycle Show. They haven't moved far from the College Street shooting location I had last seen them at. See more movie magic after the jump.

OmniCorp RoboCop in #Toronto

"We have the future under control" and that control includes a powerful half human, half robot cyborg played by Joel Kinnamon. OmniCorp was on College Street just west of University Avenue shooting their feature film remake about the Detroit Policeman named Alex Murphy, wounded and dying, who is brought back as the crime fighting RoboCop. Here is a post of RoboCop riding a motorcycle.

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Columbia Pictures production is directed by Jose Padilha and also stars Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton and Samuel L Jackson. The movie will be released in late summer 2013.

The filming moved from Hamilton into the Big Smoke as a stand in for future Detroit. See more photos after the jump.

YTV Cache Craze

The new YTV family series Cache Craze was filming at Yonge-Dundas Square in #Toronto today. The geocaching based competition game show is from 9 Story Entertainment and the 10-week series premieres in spring of 2013. The show is described as a treasure hunt hosted by comedian Ryan Horwood. Geocaching is a great way to explore and consists of finding small items hidden away which can only be found by following map coordinates using handheld GPS units or even smartphones.

Today's set constructed within the public square consisted of hundreds of coloured balloons hung on metal girders. Contestants jumped on pogo-sticks wearing spiked helmets popping the balloons hanging above their heads.

Tim Burton's Frankenweenie

The season of the undead rises in #Toronto with #Frankenweenie and @TOzombieWalk. I fear the reaper and the concession stand at the movies - oooooooohhhhh, the horror. Officially it goes spring, summer, fall, undead and then winter. The undead equinox falls on Halloween.

Victor's attic laboratory where he brings Sparky back to life

This is the Art of Frankenweenie Exhibition which was found at the 2012 FanExpo extravaganza. The displays features props, sets and puppets from the movie.

Frankenweenie is a story of a little boy named Victor's who brings his cherished dog Sparky brought back to life in black and white, stop motion 3D wackiness. I don't think there are too many normal thoughts running around in Tim's cranium! I mean do you remember his 2011 tiff exhibition?

Some zombies probably dying for the Zombie Walk

First out of the grave in 2012 is the release of Frankenweenie on October 5, followed by the Toronto Zombie Walk (photos from 2011) on October 20 and finishing with attack of the Halloween treats on October 31. You can find movies playing in Toronto at Toronto.com.
