#Toronto Polar Bear Dip 2013

Wind Chill cut to the bone as people took off their clothes and got ready to swim at the #TOPolarBearClub in the cold, cold water of Lake Ontario. The annual January 1st run into the water at Sunnyside Park was a popular holiday event for many.

Before the brave mad dash into the lake the swimmers gather their courage with friends, family and the many supporters who came by to witness the running of the dippers.

Early winter Sunnyside

New Years Eve is tomorrow night and on New Years Day you can wash away 2012 with a refreshing Polar Bear Dip in Lake Ontario at Sunnyside Park. I went by the beach during the latest brief spurt of winter that provided a nice blanket of white fluffy stuff and no one was swimming in the cold water yet. And you should really practice being a polar bear before the actual event.

The dip happens January 1, 2013 at 12 noon (arrive at 10:30am for registration and pre-dip events).
